2016 Purchase of New Grooming Equipment

Date of Project: 2015

Challenge: the existing PistenBully was old and out-of-date, causing issues with the reliability and quality of grooming conditions at the Weston Ski Track.

Solution: FOLJMS worked with the DCR to demonstrate the benefits of adding a new PistenBully for the purpose of grooming the Weston Ski Track. Without this new equipment, skiers were at risk of losing ski days and being subjected to rough conditions at the track. Members of the FOLJMS team provided education about the importance of the PistenBully brand, and helped ensure it was seen as a critical aspect of the investment. Additionally, FOLJMS helped the DCR source this new equipment, which can be a very difficult task.

Result: Complementing the older PistenBully, which has metal treads, the new machine’s rubber treads provided improved grooming quality and reliability at LJM.
